Helmet manufacturers agree that helmets should be replaced every 3-5 years, regardless of how much use they get. There are lots of fantastic new helmet models out on the market this year. Here at SHARP we test some of the most popular models and give them a star rating to help you choose. But what does all that mean? Well, Emma Franklin – Deputy Editor at Motorcycle News – came for a visit to our test labs in the spring and wrote this brilliant article explaining the purpose of the scheme, how it works, and why you should definitely check the star rating before you buy a new helmet.
